L-Citrulline

L-citrulline is an amino acid that together with L-ornithine and L-arginine are involved in the urea cycle. L-citrulline supports the liver to detoxify ammonia. L-citrulline is also converted in to L-arginine and supports nitric oxide production.

The human body makes nitric oxide from L-arginine and as it is a powerful vasodilator, nitric oxide helps to widen the blood vessels. This is helpful for the heart as well as for the rest of the vascular system.
